    hello,

    i bought 2 pre's in july, 1 for me, 1 for the old lady.

    well, yesterday, her speakers started sounding terrible, like it's blown/distorted. sounds like this with all calls.

    my question, can i get it exchanged for a new/refurb unit? what is the best hassle-free way?

    thanks

    hopefully you opted for the insurance, if so just walk into a sprint service center and show them the speaker and they SHOULD replace it with no problems, mine actually has the exact same problem but i never have time to go and do it.

    if you didnt get the insurance and there has been no physical damage to the device then you can have palm replace it under warranty but you will be without a phone for a few days
    i1000+ -> i90 -> i530 -> i730 -> i530 -> i730 -> i560 -> i930 -> i215 -> i860 -> i930 -> i860 -> i870 -> i880 -> i870 -> i850 -> i870 -> i830 -> i9 -> Pre

    Add insurance and then take the phone in. they will give you a new one. I have had this happen twice. But the phone is awesome, all you have to do is sign in to your palm account and the new phone downloads everything your old pre has. simple as that

    you can try to add insurance but that might not work if your outside thirty days. I would contact palm directly and explain your situation to them

    I work at a service center and since the phone is still under it's 1 year warranty even without insurance the techs should just do an advanced exchange on it and you should have a new one by tomorrow
