Have you found any apps NOT compatible with webOS 1.1.3?

Have you reported them to the Homebrew App developer in the Homebrew Forum?

Some app threads are also in the various webOS Developer Forums. You can typically just click the Search link at the top of any page to quickly find the thread where the app is.

In theory, most apps should work under any webOS unless they have been specifically designed to only work in a certain geography.

It is important to tell the developers of any problems you are having with specific details in their threads so that they can address the issues. They look for feedback in their own threads.

    Thanks,

    Craig

    Craig,

I'm yet to find an app that I've wanted to try that hasn't installed but if I do I'll report it to the developers.

Can you point a Pre novice in the right direction to get started with all this 'hacking' on my 1.1.3 please.

I OK at fiddling and troubleshooting, so little nudge should be enough

What do you want to know Chas? How to get the patches and applications on there?

We have been discussing this issue in the following thread and it contains links to what works and what does not. It would be good if someone can copy the relevant information here. I would but I am on my Pre and on a train heading to the Highlands. It would take me a while.

Ok well the first thing you'll need to do is download WebOS Quick Installer - there should be a thread here detailing what you need to do. I'll have a look for it.

EDIT: Here you go That will be webos quick install on there and then you'll want to get PreWare on there. You'll need to google that

Thanks, I'll download all the bits and have a play.

I might hang off for 24 hours, in case the rumours of a Friday GSM update are true

    Nothing yet

Well so far I've installed WebOS Quick Installer and then FileCoaster.

So now I've added some useful homebrew apps

Preware needed a bit more reading before I tried it out, so I decided to hang on a day or so to see if there is an update.

Thanks for the help so far, it's been gratefully acted upon

Not as bad as I feared, I used the PrewareInstaller exe file and it was as simple as double click and accept

Getting Preware to look in the 1.1.3 feed directory looks very difficult, from reading other posts about having to edit java files?

I was hoping I could add the directory as a new feed from within Preware, but the New Feed option is greyed out at the moment? I'm using 0.9.5

I'm alpha testing a version of the package manager service that does that automatically. Join the #webo-internals IRC channel on Freenode and ping me if you wish to test it.
