I am the one who bought the unlocked Pre from the Spanish guy on Ebay. When it arrives, I will give you my impressions.

Small world! Are you in the UK? Will be interesting to know if it works just like the German ones on UK networks.

You americans use different radio bands. Are you sure you can make it work completely with your networks? I mean you probably don't use the same 3G bands there, so probably you only can use european Pre with GPRS...

That's being tested by someone with AT&T contract I believe, and in another thread I read that 3G doesn't work. Still a big market in UK, France etc. for these unlocked phones

The seller told me that he is still waiting for the unlock code from the person who supplied them. Made me a bit worried...

It's in Spanish though so I can't make much sense of it. By the way, it seems pretty expensive too! (49 euros)
I contacted them on 21 October - translated transcript below and have emailed them again today. I have also been told by a London based company that they are expecting the unlock code for the Pre on Monday. Will post back if I get anything.

Thanks Paul.. this is very interesting. I am looking to import a QWERTY Unlocked GSM Pre to Australia.

Do you happen to know how this London-based company handles warranty issues? Expansys reports that they provide a 1 year warranty for service/repair on all cell phones sold - unfortunately they only have the German QWERTZ available, which is obviously less desirable from my perspective. Thanks!
