I updated my pre to 1.2.1 and tweaked it using webosquickinstall.

I put the phone on my touchstone and it went into some auto update even though it was already at 1.2.1. After (re)updating all my tweaks were gone, so i tried to plug back into my computer but my phone and computer don't recognize each other. I swapped out 3 usbs but still no luck, is the port on my phone gone?

Or is it a software issue?

soft reset may do the trick but if not then you may have to web doc it. so it wont even let you put it into usb mode??

it doesn't even detect that its plugged into my computer ( charging icon doesn't show) and my computer usually pops up new device found. I have ran webosquick install multiple times before with no issues.

I did a soft reset and nothing.......

plug ur cable into your computer ( not the phone yet)open webos QI and then go into tools device manager it will ask you to plug in phone ,then do so and see if it sees the phone then ,if not use a different usb slot and then try different cables you may have a messed up driver on the usb slot on computer ,or the usb may have gone out

In another thread, a user was having similar problems. She rebooted her compute, then put the Pre in developer mode, and all was well...

haha, thanks for the help. iI tried my zune and ipod usb in the same port with no problems , i switched 2 computers and still dont have my phone recognizing.

I tried the original cable as well as 2 off brand cables. My touchstone works fine with the cable, but direct plug from computer to phone does not work. I'm thinking that the off brand wire/charger I was using may have screwed the port up. I have the EPP so I'm going to try it one more time then head over to sprint store.

Let me reboot and reinstall everything and see what happens.
