RT @daveman692: Palm announces that if you build an open source app it will cost you nothing; closed source apps cost $99/year, $50 per app

Not really digging the $50 charge per application as BlackBerry does something similar and now no one uses their app store.

Really liking the web install, however.

The free open-source is very cool.

I'm not sure how well the web install will work. I imagine for those who don't want to pay to get onto the App Catalog but keep it closed-source will like this. I'd imagine, though, the more deeply integrated apps like Preware or MyTether won't get past Palm. This will also probably work well for tie-in's, where you visit someones site and they have a huge flashing link screaming "Install our Pre app!".

I would like to be the first to welcome the new PreCentral.net App Store!
