sorry for the duplicate post guys but i didn't think people would read without a title! ANYway I did a partial erase of my phone last night in order to see if that corrected the problem of not being able to download new apps even tho i had 3GBs of memory left. Unfortunately i shouldn't have done this cuz every time i try to make a call/send a text etc. phone goes "phone offline"!!!!! not even "no service" with blank bars... bars have disappeared!! and frequently in and out! even after the 1.2.1 update around noon today and a palm support recommendation of performing a full erase i STILL have my service go "phone offline" mode once every 5/6 minutes!!! NOTHING has worked with palm or sprint support troubleshooting and i feel like sprint repair store (60 miles away!) would produce similar results! PLEASE HELP! I'm at work right now but will WebOS doctor work????? if not what can i do? everyone on this site has been a godsend with previous issues and i trust you all WAY before sprint and palm customer service representatives and so called "specialists" I love my pre and can't take this much longer!!!!

the doctor should be able to fix it. Just to make sure though, if you go into the phone app and into preferences, you do have it set to be online right?

Yes, that would have been it. The easiest fix would be to run WebOS doctor - if it is at all software related, this should fix it (make sure you backup pictures, files, music, etc first): Palm - webOS Doctor for Palm Pre for Sprint

I have been having the same exact problem...really stressfull! I have tried a full erase and a new profile and still the problem persists! I believe there is something in the back ground that is constantly crashing and restarting hence the bad battery performance that goes with this issue.

If I do decide to use the Dr. what are my options? I have not tried this but have been down the path of the full erase...is a full erase the same thing using the Dr?

I found a very similar issue to mine here:

    Hostname: forums.palm.com

    Trailing URL: /palm/board/message?board.id=webossoftware&message.id=7553

Sorry about the broken up URL, I'm new to the board and can't post links yet.

I can remove my exchange syncing and my phone stays on the cell network. When I add my work exchange account back it goes offline every minute or two and makes the phone pretty much useless. I'm not sure how to fix it yet (well, fix and AND have my work exchange sync going), but the cause in my case is quite apparent - some aspect of exchange - probably the calendar.

Open the phone app, open preferences, click update network settings. Worked for me last night.

Well mine only happens on the weekends, mainly Sunday. I am going to try and remove the Exchange sync on Saturday night and see if this fixes the problem. But I need my Exchange sync....no way I can live without it! Good luck trying to figure out the problem and let me know if you find it!!!
