I ended up changing my sound file for 'messages' from the default file 'notification.wav' using the app My Notification. I'd like to change it back, and selecting Reset Defaults from the menu doesn't help. Doing a search, someone said they did it using the app Internalz, so I got that but no luck.

Even if I just had the wav file, I could just place it it with my ringtones. If I could find it on my phone I could just copy it over. I looked through the phone while it was connected to the computer, but couldn't find that file

Is there any way to access that just by connecting phone via USB cable to my computer? I just looked but couldn't find it

I couldn't do it, that's why I installed Internalz... I haven't rooted my Pre or anything though.
