Had a really strange thing happen this morning. I went to put the phone to sleep by pressing the on/off button when the phone showed me a black and white half screen with a yield sign with an exclamation point and in big bold letter said PRL UPDATING. Did that for about 30 seconds and then went back to the home screen. Anyone have this happen?

Happened to me too. I noticed it because I enabled the LED blink notification, so the LED lit up. I was going to start a thread about it too.

Yah, the PRL update has been available for a bit.

I noticed it when I called into CS the otehr day an after entering my number it said was updating, and then after 1.2 I did a manual update.

I had the same exact issue happen this morning. I did not do anything, it just popped up and I guess it updated. Never had that happen before.

Go to Device Info and tell us what your PRL is.

From what little I know the number represents a list of permissable frequencies that the phone can use while roaming. Entire explanation is here...Preferred Roaming List - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I haven't checked in a while so I can't say if it was already on my phone but the wierd thing was how the phone forced the update on me. Just took me by surprise because it had never done that before.
