Broadband Speed Test and Internet Bandwidth Community has
both download and upload speed tests that'll work
with the Pre. Testmy.net has a bunch more sizes to test.

    I'm getting 2.2-2.4Mbit/s downloads for a 3Mbyte file on both mobilespeedtest.net and testmy.net

You can run an upload test on testmy.net but have to force
a reload of the "Forwarding to results page..." page to see your results.
I'm only getting 200-300Kbps upload speeds.

Testing out on mobilespeedtest.com for a 250k size test I'm averaging about 14 mbps using Wifi but I just did another test and it said a whopping 114.89 mbps! Wow!

For EVDO I'm getting between 2.5 and 3 mbps using the 250K test. The speed gets lower using the bigger files to test.

I had just over 3 mbps on EVDO, 1 MB file. Same on my wireless connection, 1.16 mbps. My home internet blows chunks.

The bigger files are more accurate, as timing errors are magnified
    the less time it takes.
