Using the 2.5 version and I tried resending that file with the same results (NO ON/OFF switch) ???
  3. #63
I don't think 2.5 will play nice with WebOS 1.2

Patch WebOS Bypassing Lock Screen - WebOS Internals

Uh oh, don't let the IT admins on here know you did this, haha, they were doing a little dance for a couple of days there.

No more need to root or use WebOS Quick Install to enable led blink notifications.

Install the autopatch-feed through Preware. Update the feeds. Install the Enable LED Notification patch. Done and done.

Updated the OP with instructions to install this patch via Preware.

I actually like the original edit files way better.

I like getting in there and doing the work manually too, but applying it via Preware means you can easily remove it later when the next update hits

This patch can now be applied via Preware

Open Preware, go to Available Packages > Feed

Not sure what I am doing wrong but I can not find the option: Available Packages
    I have: Available Applications
    Available Themes
    Available Patches

My fault, there is a setting in the Preware preferences called 'show all package types' I had that turned on.

I'll revise the instructions. Here is what you should do:

Open Preware, go to Available Applications > IPKG

    Install autopatch-feed

Restart Preware, then go to Available Patches > Screen Lock

    Install Enables LED Notifications

Reboot phone, enable the option in Screen & Lock and you're set.

    Sorry for the confusion!

quick question, when quickinstall comes out with a new version that is compatible with 1.2 will i have to uninstall some of these patches for the new version of quickinstall to work? reason i am asking is that i see a lot of these patches are the same as some of the tweak in quickinstall and previous version of quickinstall had required you to undo all the tweak before you install the new one. is this the same? last time i went from quickinstall 2.5 to 2.6 and forgot to undo the tweaks in 2.5, it gave me a lot of problem. just don't want the same things happen again.

If you're on a Mac (by your avatar, looks like you are), duplicate both for backup and put in a folder. Then launch Terminal, and use vi to edit the files.

I did it the other day, but now I think I'll restore using the backups and use the Preware method just to make it possible to easily remove the patch later on.
