So my girlfrind her dad and I all got palm pre's, her dad ported his number from tmobile but he activated the phone first with the temperary number. After the port the phone stopped working since it had to be activated/programmed again. So we reset the phone to facotory default by using the full reset under device info. So he started going through the device setup again and it asked him for something like "exchange activesync profile password" that may not be exact but it was something along those lines since he was telling me this over the phone. It sounded like a device lock, and I know that he had a device lock on his phone pre reset. His password before was just 1234, but now it is not recognizing the password. I know this might sound jumbled but this is what he told me, he said there was a option to set password or emergency call, when he went to set password and tried putting in 1234 it said "password does not match device profile"

Anyone have any idea? It doesn't look like he can reset it again andwhen he powered off the device and turned it back on it went right back to that screen. Anyway of getting that off?

Was the original phone number printed on a sticker on the box?

yes, I had him try putting in the last 4 digits and the last 4 of the new number, neither worked.

He should have set up a password with palm back up when he first activated that's what its asking for just call sprint and ask them to connect you with a palm specialist they should figure it for you

Your supposed to call in whenever you activate a new phone even if its a number switch or phone replacement.

yeah its not the password for the profile I don't believe, he put in his email and password and that worked, it looks like a different password. It gives the option to put it in or emergency call which makes me think its a different password specific to the phone itself. Also it only allows 4 digits all numbers.
