I've noticed that there's a "Virtual Keyboard" folder inside my Pre and inside that folder there is a sub-folder entitleed "themes" which seem to be different variations for the virtual keyboard , i.e., classic, glossy and, ice. Does anyone know how I can activate these new looks for my virtual keyboard?

In the virtual keyboard folder, there is a file named "kb_config"..open that with Wordpad and change the theme name to the one you want. Save the document, close it and your good to go...also, here...On Screen Keyboard - WebOS Internals you can get new themes as well, just save them to the themes folder on your phone and edit the config document again when you want to use it...also, in that config, you will see haptic and then the number 0, if you change it to 50 you can get vibration when you press a key on the keyboard..Have fun

So still new to this WebOS Quick Install stuff....but what exactly do you have to do once you get that going to be able to access the virtual keyboard? I know the WebOS Internals and File Service is in the homebrew apps, but havent been able to get them to install etc, or know exactly what I need to get them running.

    Running:
    WebOS 1.1
    DEV mode: ON
    WebOS Quick Install is working
    File Coaster INstalled

    Thanks

to get the virtual keyboard you need Preware installed on your phone...see here, http://forums.precentral.net/homebre...0-preware.html

but if your Quick Install is not working, I would check that thread (http://forums.precentral.net/homebre...k-install.html) and make sure you follow the steps in the first post. That should tell you if you installed Quick Install correctly. And if you follow through or search the thread for your exact issue, Im sure someone in there has found a way to try to fix it. Good luck.

go to preware and go to patches and download keyboard if not already done. then do as stated above there will be two quotes ,just type in the theme you want inbetween the quotes . same goes for haptic
