Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this would be pretty funny, but would it possible to code a functioning rotary dialer?

Seeing this pic reminded me of how it used to be...getting old sucks

I had thought about creating this app a few weeks ago. After a quick web search, I found this article which led me to the realization that there wouldn't be such a big market for a rotary dialer app:

How to Dial a Rotary Phone: 5 steps - wikiHow

If you *must* have a rotary dial cell phone, this option is available for carriers that use SIM cards:

Make: Online : Portable Rotary Phone - pre-review

It would be neat if the dial-pad was user-editable for themes, etc.

it wouldnt be THAT difficult to code

I would do it with an image map for the numbers, detecting that the finger is dragged by a certain position

It would go with my "old phone" ringtone.

After you finish dialing, hold the Pre up to your ear, then pick up the Touchstone and speak into it. When people start looking at you funny just say "It's wireless. It's the latest thing."

    What's a rotary phone? :P

Ahhh the good ol days... I would love an app like this.
    Palm History: Palm III>IIIc>CLIÉ NR70v>CLIÉ TG50>Tungsten C>Treo 650>Treo 700p>Centro>Pre!! 6/5/09
    Phone History: Way too long

Sorry Timmy, SERO does not work with the Pre.

Made me think of this from the iPhone debut:

It would go great with this bluetooth headset:

ThinkGeek :: ThinkGeek Bluetooth Retro Handset

It's an old time wired phone handset

I wouldn't go as far as having to dial, just press the number key(s) you want.

    Cheers,
