Why do I have a feeling sprint screwed up with this one? It probably won't be coming until tomorrow or thursday. Palm looking to steal some of apples thunder maybe? Because that is palm's style afterall.

Actually, there is no risk of his phone being "bricked".

Seeing as some of the tweaks are coming out through palm, I would remove them. It's easy to do.

they would steal apples thunder by releasing TODAY! and im getting "up to date" too, so hopefully its 10 pm PST and hopefully it improves the battery a bit. ive only discharged and recharged it twice though so im not gonna judge it yet lol and i removed my tweaks already, just kept my homebrew apps (:

Chances are you don't actually have to remove your tweaks either, because when Palm updates files they just overwrite the old version with their version. There is a very, very small chance that things can get messed up if maybe part of the update references a file that hasn't been updated that you had a patch on or something, but the most likely thing is there won't be any issues. Just your tweaks will be back to default behaviors. But, of course the way to do it to definitely have absolutely no issues would be to remove your tweaks, and of course that will be the recommended way, just in case.
