Why do you guys need the web app with universal search?
I have quick contacts, mail, music, calendar.

    Phone, calendar, web, camera.
I keep the web there because my list of bookmarks is easier than doing the universal search and typing in the address... Also, I typically leave my messaging app open so no need to keep it on the launch

You can add the date next to the time on top of the status bar.

That should be a default when you unlock the phone, right in the center of the topbar.

Just hold you finger on the app in the quick launcher until it starts glowing, then you can pull it off of the laucher. Then you can do the same with one of the apps by dragging it onto the quick launcher.
