    Or just install nano with ipkg-opt. It's a lot easier to use.

    I've said this a few times.. Anyone ever planning on doing any type of file editing on any *nix based system should learn at least the basic fundamental operation of vi.. While in this case, installing another editor (nano -- which is rather clunky, but familiar for non-nix users) is an option on the Pre -- you will one day encounter a system where that is not an option.. And vi is almost always available on any nix system.

    Basic operation of vi for simple text editing is really kind of easy.. If you want to get into more powerful editing, thats an option too -- but you dont need to learn everything.
