Default Build Quality Survey/Poll based on Manufacture Date

I've been reading a lot of posts (and the most recent article about slight differences between the "old" and "new" Palm Pre units) and it's just confused me even more in regards to whether or not the manufacture data has anything to do with the quality of the unit so I'm doing this poll.

Let's forget about the "Sunset" box (which I got on launch date!), the white center button versus the silver, etc. Let's just purely go by the manufacture date.

To get the manufacture date, do the following:

1. Go to your "phone" or "dialpad" app.
2. Dial in ##786#
3. A new screen should show up.
4. Scroll down to the bottom and locate "WARRANTYDATECODE"

Now based on that date, please respond accordingly to the poll. Thanks so much!

Edit: I am allowing "Multiple selections" for this since I know that some of you may have returned your previous units for new ones.

My first one was purchased on launch day, and had a very slight wiggle. Not bad enough to be annoying.

Unfortunately, my phone died last Monday. We'll see what my replacement from Best Buy is like.

The warranty date code is not the manufacture date.

according to the poll, (well which isn't probably very reliable haha) it looks like the battery situation is less pronounced in the newer pre's

The data I would be interested in seeing is:

Date is BEFORE July 1, 2009 and my phone cracked
Date is AFTER July 1, 2009 and my phone cracked

To me, this cracking issue I'm hearing about is the biggest problem the Pre may have.

Mine* was purchased from Sprint Telesales (EPRP family plan), arrived last Tuesday, has a warranty date code of 10/15/2009 and has the slider reset issue. (Also, the "reset when sitting in the OEM sock in my hip pocket while I'm walking" issue, which I assume is the same battery compartment QC issue.) Screen grabs attached.

Interestingly, mine does not have the piece of foam behind the battery-fetching tab shown at Precentral (can't post links yet) as a running build quality improvement.

Makes me wonder what, if anything else, was left off of my Pre.

A phone bought from Sprint Telesales can be replaced in a store, right?

*soon to be "my first" because of this issue, assuming I don't trade it a Hero or the new BB worldphone instead; I love the software but my phone has to be reliable. I'm also coming from a Centro that did the sync loop thing after a year, so despite how great webOS is and my history of using Palm stuff since the Palm Vx PDA I bought in the summer of 2001 I could see myself jumping ship.
