I guess the first question might be which plan do you have from sprint? I have the simply everything plan, and I actually called sprint to see if I was going to have to pay for data roaming. I was told no. Not sure if this helps or not, but figured I would give it a try.

My plan is : Everything Data 450

Not sure that $0.25 is worth making the call to sprint, however I might make the call just for future consideration.

Will do. I recall reading this post in this thread which is why I wasn't concerned about it.

But seeing a charge on my usage details made me scratch my head. Fortunately its only $0.25 if i do get charged for it and not $25.

I'll probably call tomorrow when I have some idle time in the airport and I'll let you guys know what I find out.

After reading this I became a little concerned because where I live and work I have absolutely no Spint service. I checked my usage on Sprint's website. I have no section for Data Roam on the chart like you have shown. I don't have the simply everything plan anymore because I added a line for my girlfriend, but I do have unlimited data usage. I plan to make a call to CS to check on this. I will post back as soon as I find out.

Hmm... I called about this Saturday night. The Sprint person told me there is no roaming, the best buy employee when I went to get my shield said no roaming should be charged. Also a second rep told me there should be no roaming charge.

I been roaming quite a bit for some reason on this phone and I wanted to be sure there was no charges as I just had dinner and turned data roaming on. Pls let us know how this turns out as I am within my 30 days but if I will get charged when I want to use a net it wont work out.

Ps... Im on 500 min Everything data.

I have everything data and the only thing I have been charged for was data roaming in Canada. And that is a documented thing...

Have you ever seen charges on your "Usage Details" like I show above? ( And then had them not appear on the bill? Meaning it might be a bug in the estimator that the "Usage Details" uses.)

Data roaming within the united states is supposed to be included on the everything data plans - not just simply everything. I would call and get this straightened out while it's only a small charge.

Are you sure? Maybe it's a phone limitation? I remember reading somewhere that data services don't work while roaming...maybe it was in the Palm manual.

I believe this is normal and should never go over $0.25. I've been charged this before after going on some road trips. Not sure what the hell good it does sprint though

If anyone can makethis out, I just had a chat with CS on Sprint's website, I'm still a little unsure of what I'm going to be charged for roaming...

3:27:48 PM Tamara M. sure...what is your question?
3:27:52 PM James-Elward My name is Thomas James-Elward
3:28:47 PM James-Elward Where i live and work there is no sprint service...i just moved from the simply everything plan to unlimited data plan and 1500 anytime minutes, will i be charged for roaming?
3:29:42 PM Tamara M. Roaming is included in Everything Data Share

3:29:47 PM Tamara M. Do you have any further questions for me today?
3:30:48 PM James-Elward so there is no charge for roaming on everything data plan?
3:31:52 PM Tamara M. No, the minutes are derived from Anytime as long as you are on the Sprint Digital network....if analog roaming you may pick up on another carrier and be charged their roaming rate....
3:32:12 PM Tamara M. to prevent this place the Settings on your device to Home Only to ensure that you are on the Sprint network
3:33:08 PM James-Elward So i could be charged by another carrier for roaming. Switching to home only is not an option for me, like i said there is no sprint service where i live and work...
3:34:42 PM Tamara M. You can request that another tower be placed in your area to increase your coverage in your area via the link below or go to a Sprint store to purchase an Airave device
3:34:47 PM Tamara M. Tamara M. pushes page, Sprint | Contact Us

3:36:20 PM Tamara M. Do you have any further questions for me today?
3:36:25 PM James-Elward just to make sure what you're saying...You don't charge for roaming with an everything data plan, however I may be charged by another carrier for using their towers??
3:37:02 PM Tamara M. IF you are analog roaming, correct. Digital roaming is included in your plan and is covered by your Anytime minutes.
    3:37:40 PM James-Elward Thanks..
    3:37:44 PM James-Elward Thats all

OP: What you been in proximity to any other country ie. Canada or Mexico. If your phone landed on an international provider for a few minutes, data roaming would apply.

Yeah, Thats what I did not understand. From what I make of it, you're charged for analog roaming and not for data...
  19. #19
FWIW, when I called I was told there was no charge for roaming. I have the same plan you do.

I'm on everything data 450 and do data roaming pretty regularly and haven't been charged.
