I saw this on engadget....I thought it was a joke. Why don't they utilize all the space of the back coveer when the do that....half of the case is empty space.

Paper clips and a few quarters. At least, that's what I used to put in my empty Springboard dummy insert.

File that under "What were they smoking?"

Seriously. If the extended battery needs more space, can't it be spread across the entire back of the phone to minimize overall thickness of the phone?

That requires serious R&D effort , it will probably increase the battery price to 300 dollars for the early sales.

FWIW , the Amzer 2800 seems like the best of the breed.
The back cover for this one is not in the way of camera.
I am monitoring the thread in the accessories section.
I might buy if the results are great.

I would get the 3800 battery for that back...... if it was 1991 and every phone looked like that!!!!!!!

I find it hysterical that somebody would actually buy the 3800 battery with it being the monstrosity that it is. I mean that cover literally DOUBLES the width of the phone.. The Pre phones already are a 1/2 inch thick w/ the standard battery cover...

Sweet, now there's extra space inside the back cover to hide my drugs!

I wonder if in addition to oversize battery covers, Amzer will also be offering expansion fabric for our pockets. Or perhaps a wrist strap so we don't get fatigued holding the Pre for too long.

If you read the fine print, Amzer recommends wearing an oven mitt while operating the Pre.

I wouldnt mind using the phone that large if it lasts for 3 days of actual usage, i've always had large PPC's with extended doors anyhow so it would still be smaller than that.
