Anyone happen to know of an antenna or radio on the Pre or Touchstone that might interfere?

It is the WIFI frequency chart. IF you have your WiFi radio on and it is scanning at the time you walk through the RFID Detecter it could be possible it is setting the alarm off. I noticed one of the frequencies that he mentioned was 2.4 Ghz. Wifi operates on this frequency.

That must be it. Now the question is, does the store have an open wifi network? Does that matter? I've noticed I lose cell reception in the store I mentioned before but not in others where I set off the alarm. I will have to play with their security system next time I'm there.

That's nothing, my old phone (Nextel iden phone) could turn my electric razor on. Scared me to death the first time it happened, but it was very repeatable. If the razor (a Norelco triple blade with the integrated goop dispenser) was within ~6 inches or so of the phone when the phone received or initiated a call, the razor would turn on and stay on. Craziest thing, but hilarious.

That said, I have not set off any theft alarms with my phone yet.

IDEN and GSM devices are known for causing crazy interference with electronic devices, we use At&t blackberries where I work and have those polycom conference phones in our conference rooms. Anytime we have a meeting they need to unplug the phone because our blackberries make the speaker go crazy!

Glad I found this thread. Now I can print it out to show the librarian who frisked me last night.

Just stopped by a Khol's store and beeped on the way in. So I turned of wifi while I was there but still beeped on the way out. I guess that throws out wifi as the culprit.
