Does anyone know if there is a way that I can see how many times a day information is being sent over the network (obviously through the Linux kernel)? I've been watching my phone fairly constantly getting on the network for 5/10 seconds every minute or so all day long. I'd like to try and get a feel for what is causing this.

I have already deleted my email account to see if this was the cause and it was not.

    Thanks.

Well here is what I ended up doing. Installed vnstat.

Use the wiki to setup the Optware packages.

    Then run:

    Code:
    ipkg-opt install vnstat
    Code:
    vnstat -u -i ppp0
Then after that it will work just like regular vnstat so you can monitor your machines connections.

Also, if you want to watch in real-time the connections install iftop.

    Code:
    ipkg-opt install iftop
