So tell me: I need the cash. Who do I get in touch with to get paid to troll like this myself?

Ok, ok, I'll be serious. If it were me I would do the following:

    1. Get an extended battery
    2. Enable Developer Mode (Google it if you need to)
    3. Install PreBrew on your computer (or a similar Homebrew installer)
    4. D/l fileCoaster and install it to the Pre (using the homebrew installer)
    5. D/l and install any homebrew apps that interest you using fileCoaster
    6. Go to webos-internals.org and read up on how to Access Linux
    7. Access Linux and install Optware and quilt
    8. Install any patches that interest you (through quilt)
    9. While still in Linux, install MyTether
    10. Enjoy your Pre

I'm assuming that doing the basic setup features are already done...

    1. Buy a car charger (there's a list of working 3rd party chargers in the Accessories section).
    2. Install Chapura (or whatever the other syncing software is). I'm not a fan of 'the cloud.'
    3. Enable Developer mode.
    4. Install whichever homebrews you like (emphasis on MyNotifications, IMO)
    5. Order and install some sort of screen protector (I really like my Invisible Shield but there are many options out there)
    6. By now you probably know how exactly you'll want to carry your Pre so order the case that facilitates it.

That's all I can think of ATM. Hope it helps.

I think this is a prime example of how silly the "troll hunter" complaint is. Are you really insinuating that this guy's post, where he immediately answered the that top 10 things a persons should do with their Pre is return it 10 times, was an attempt at constructive critcism? Really?

Considering that so many folks have complained about the Oreo effect and other issues I found this to be funny. It may anger some but hey, it does have a bit of truth behind it.

Hey, I'm just glad I could help. Although, the term I would have used is "instructive criticism." (Because no one's ever heard of that kind before.)

*crawls back under bridge to collect tolls* (so that he can afford that lofty TEP deductible that he knows he will need soon)

Hmmm... The Goat got his Pre on launch day:

    1. Noticed how awesome the web browsing was.
    2. Noticed how fantastic synergy worked.
    3. Admired the fantastic picture quality.
    4. Loved threaded messaging. (big deal coming from a BB. Their threaded messaging was horrible.)
    5. Noticed my battery life wasn't the greatest and took appropriate action to remedy it.
    6. Actually used multitasking to be productive.
    7. Laughed at anyone who had a smrtphone. (because it wasn't as great as my Pre.)
    8. Showed it off to anyone who had a dumbphone and attempted to explain it's capabilities.
    9. Tried out every app available at the time.
    10. Bought a Touchstone charger. (The back alone is almost worth 70)

Sorry... I haven't rooted my phone or even got a case for it besides the pouch. I like it just the way it is.

I'm assuming the OP is asking because he/she is making plans on what to do after getting a Pre. Based on that assumption, here's my answers:
    1. Get it set up - Activation, your name, etc
    2. Completely charge it
    3. Ensure that you have TEP from Sprint
    4. Put on a skin if you've already got one, order one if you don't
    5. Apply all updates
    6. Get it set up with your "Cloud based" services - email and calendaring
    7. Take at least a quick look at every app already installed, and that includes the NASCAR app (you may discover something you like something you didn't know about)
    8. Look at the Apps Catalog, and download whatever looks even a little interesting
    9. Completely recharge it
    10. Take a look at Main Page - WebOS Internals and decide whether or not you're up to setting up root acces
    11. And a "bonus tip" - add Pre-Central to your favorites in the browser.

You do know you have to turn it on?
Or you could be honest and say:

    1. Note the Palm Pre has been released
    2. Post about how much you love your IPhone everywhere possible
    3. Go to work and proudly display your IPhone for all to see
    4. Go to the Apple store and imagine you have 3K to spend on a computer
    5. Go to Starbucks with your IPhone and order a latte
    6. Join Palm Pre forums and make up stories about your imaginary Pre
    7. Go to work and proudly display your IPhone for all to see
    8. Profess your love for Apple and attempt to marry your IPhone
    9. Stress out that you can't multi-task
    10. Profess your love for Apple and attempt to marry your IPhone
