    Guys / Girls,
The iPhone / Apple have the 'App Store'.
The Pre / Palm have the 'App Catalog'.

Especially with the rumor of the new release and the hopes that we'll see more apps, I've been seeing this mistake more and more.

    Just FYI.
Went from iPhone to Pre and love it!

But is it really a mistake to say Palm's app store?

What. Are we talking about Palm's app store or Apple's app catalog?

I couldn't care less what we call it as long as Palm FILLS it.

Actually, its more like an App Sticky Note rather than a catalog. I'll go as far as an App Cliff's Notes.

Wrong. Mac is the official name now.

A Reader's Digest Condensed App Catalog.

Um, false. Apple has never made any official statement stating that Macintosh was officially being shortened to Mac. In case you haven't noticed, Apple flip-flops a lot in which term they use (eg. Mac OS X requirements call them Mac computers, while Quicktime 7 requirements call them Macintosh computers)

    But I digress.

From the Apple publications style guide (Sept 2008):

Mac is the preferred term to describe Apple products: Mac computer, the Mac,
your Mac, Mac users, the Mac platform, for Mac and Windows, Mac-compatible products.

I might be alone here, but I equate the cutesy term 'app' with the other mob too.
