    Hi all,

I tried to write a note to the administrator but got no reply.

I was told if I scroll my mouse over the message thread listings a pop up (sometimes called a balloon) window would apprear with a portion of the message in the window without having to actually go into the thread to read it.

I am not getting this in Firefox 3.5, but when I used IE8 I do get this feature to work.

Does anyone know the setting on Firefox to make this work?

A few people in the forums keep saying to use this feature so you don't waste time going into threads that are not of your interest.

    Thanks

I have Forefox 3.0.11 and it works fine. I'm on a Mac.

It's probably yet another Windows issue.

Personally, I don't like this feature. It's more annoying than anything else as I scroll through the notes reading the topics. BTW, this feature was on by default. I did not turn it on. I don't even know if there is an off switch.

I am running FireFox 3.5.1 and it works for me. Do you have NoScript or any extra plugins for FireFox installed?

I just upgraded from 3.0.11 to 3.5; it worked before and still works. No special settings that I know of. Do yo have java and javascript enabled?

    Wow, it works.

Man I need to find out why it's not working for me.

    Yes, I am logged in.

    I'm on 3.5

I do have some plug-ins but nothing that I would think should stop that function.

    What do you mean NOSCRIPT?

It's a popular FireFox plugin with script blocking NoScript - JavaScript/Java/Flash blocker for a safer Firefox experience! - what is it? - InformAction

I just got it to work using the IE Tab Plug-in! I did say it working in IE8. So I guess for now I will use the IE Tab Plug-in to get it to work.

Still it would have been nice to know why it wasn't working.

I also tried to find an answer on Firefox's website, but I guess I had a hard time figuring out how to search for something like that.

What is that feature called, a popup or a balloon?

Back when I was learning all the Adobe systems, I think they called them "roll overs", "mouse overs", or "roll over links".

It's not really a pop up. It's kinda like a balloon though.

I'm glad you got it working.

They can be referred to as tooltips too. I tried some google searches for info. What I gather is there may be interference from a plugin or addon. If you were to list them it may be possible to determine if any of them are the cause.
