Neato. I just booked lunch with myself next tuesday.

I did go in and turn all the reminders off, though. I don't need dual reminders from the Pre AND Google.

IMO you cannot get a better computer than a Mac. I love my Pre but I have a iPhone 3GS and it is a very nice device.

I am constantly using Google products, Apple products and once again Palm. I have used Palm for years starting with the first Pilot ever made and every version since.

Isn't 8:34 a strangely specific time to end dinner? Sarah might not like it when you cut it off mid-sentence and walk out. I had such hopes for you kids...

Nice find! On my calendar it shows up at the top of the day and not in the day at the actual appt. time. Is this what should happen?

Still cool as all get out!

No. If you specify a time and date, it should appear at that time and date. I just sent an appointment for Monday and it showed up exactly as intended.

    Great tip!

Are you able to specify which calendar the event gets added to?

I just had this problem. My short codes were turned off. I asked them to in the past as I paid for each text and did not want any.

Just called them and they turned it on, I re-sent the verification while still on the phone and received it just fine.

So just make sure your short coded are ON.

My number is verified but I am not seeing the events I sent to Google. I will keep trying.

EDIT: I removed the number as trim81 said and set it up from scratch. It works now ii

    what I did:

go to google calendar online, and basically, erase BOTH fields cell number AND verification code. Click save
    \
ALSO, on your cell phone text "48368" STOP

    this will delete your profile.

wait about 5 minutes later, and re-add your cell number

That did not work. The reason why I wasn't receiving the verification code from Google is because "Short Codes" were locked in my account. I called Sprint tech support and told them that my "Short Codes" need to be enable and they unlocked it. After that everything worked fine. I get confirmations too that my entry was saved in my calendar. I had "Mama birthday dinner at Cheesecake factory 7pm-11pm today" and it did it just fine! It seems like the default is the personal calendar so I guess if you say (work) at the end it will place it in the work calendar. Not sure.

I am not receiving any sms notofication of events...anyone else having this problem?

I can schedule events fine, and get a confirmation, but on the actual day of the event, no text notify.

Is there a special way to set 'reminders' that I don't know about?

Many thanks!! You were absolutely correct. Sprint had turned off my shortcodes, unbeknownst to me. Now that they're activated, my verification code and mobile registration worked fine. I've sent in a SMS calendar entry and it showed up on my calendar within minutes!

No. It goes to the default calendar. The problem being Outlook sync does the same. Most things I want to SMS will be personal.

    Solution:
Created a Google Calendar for only work with a different email. Use Sync to 1 way sync and share with my personal.
Now default calendar for my main account is Personal and SMS works with that.

A little work, but solves the only go to default calendars issue.

I had the same issue. You'll have to go into Google Calender on the Web and adjust your settings for mobile reminders. I did that and had no problems since.

Bump for a great find. I just discovered this link was always at the bottom of G-Cal but thanks to the OP again for pointing it out.

I now use this everyday...By making Google sms a contact it is probably one of the single best things about this phone now. Syncing and creating Events/to dos now are so easy.

Is there any way to do this to add a new contact? Or is this calendar only?
  19. #39
    No milie just Calendar events.

Thanks, this is great. Much easier than the Pre's Calendar app. I also just realized I can set the notification time to ANYTIME, like two hours before, a glaring omission from the Pre Calendar.

Worked like a charm! This makes the Pre's calendar function a lot more useful.
    Thanks.
