Heading off for a Vegas Bachelor party tomorrow morning and I'll be there til Monday. Since I've had the Pre I have not been too far from my Touchstone at work or my car charger. I am bringing a charger, but you all know how much time you stay in your room in Vegas.

I am turning wifi, bluetooth and GPS off unless needed. Screen will be dim as possible. Any other suggestions?

There are 4-5 iphoners in the group... I am sure there will be some sh!% talking. However, one of the guys in our group works for Palm, he'll get my back.

I feel so bad for you....I should go instead.

I got my pre about 2 weeks after getting back from LV so will be interested how it does.

If I was going I would probably stop email (who cares while there) and less multitasking (except to show up the iFanboys)

You have to sleep sometime, so you should really be fine. For a bit of extra juice, turn off IM if you have it on and consider turning your email accounts to manual.

And remember, what happens in Vegas... can stay on your permanent record.

Good point... I get 150 or so emails a day. That will probably consume a lot of juice.

Turn off Google Talk and AIM if you're not using them.

On turn off notifications on email and SMS-- you don't need the phone lighting up for 2 seconds when it's in your holster, and it will still vibrate or play your sound.

If you're in casinos, expect to burn battery trying to get a cell signal that doesn't exist-- you might want to go airplane mode if you see that a signal is just impossible to get.

If you're really adventurous, you could look into adjusting your roaming to stick with the strongest signal, but that might be pushing things too far.

And try not to use Pandora to supply music for the strippers, play MP3s directly from the phone instead

I actually just came back from Las Vegas today (was there since tuesday), and my palm pre did fine all day with AIM online.

Thank Guys... I'm out. Is it against the forum rules to post stripper pics? I mean... to show the camera quality of course.

No, but since I'm interested in *AHEM* the finer aspects of low-light photography on the Pre, you can feel free to PM those images to me. All in the name of science, of course.

One tip, go to your local Sprint store before you leave, and ask for a spare battery. This will double your battery life :-)
All you gotta do is carry the extra battery. The caverns of a non-sprint wired casino will kill a phone in a few short hours.

I live in Vegas and there are lots of non-Sprint wired casinos.

I agree with the spare battery idea. It will drive those iPhone fanboys crazy.

I left wifi on while I was in Las Vegas. Lots of free wifi to be had.

    insert crapy old phone here (x3)->Sanyo 4920 -> Sanyo 8200 -> Moto Q -> Palm Pre

Got to say spare battery is a great idea. If your iphone buddies start talking trash, just go "oh my battery is low better pop in my spare ... did you guys bring one for yours? " haha that should make them livid.

Personally if i was you, i would probably be planning to drink alot. Experience has shown that alcohol will kill your hand eye coordination. You might want to get a holster for your phone as it would be a shame to fumble it and have the thing smash into a million peices on the strip.
