1.77 at mobilespeedtest.com. My first test came back at like 2.5 and I was like that can't be right (over evdo) so I ran it a few more times and cleared history, etc. and haven't been able to duplicate that speed. It varies from 1.5-1.7.

Well, I just got 2.34 (this is kinda like a fun game). Maybe somethings up with this site?

I can see the tower from my house. I always have 4 or 5 bars EV at home.
I get 350-600 Kbps at work using the 1MB test file.

I get 1.21 Mbps form that site, seems a bit high.

Now I'm consistently getting in the 2.0+ range. Can that be right?

using mobdilespeedtest, i get 0.9 thru 1.4 using EVDO (2-3 bars), and 5-8 using Wifi at home (with size of anywhere from 512k thru 3 MB). I did 250KB and got like 10-20 Mbps, but cant replicate using 512k or higher

    Try

    http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed?jisok=1&more=1

more realistic I think. Use the 400K or 1MB download.

My friend got 9.0+ on his iPhone with TMobile. It blew me away. I still think he was picking up McDonald's WiFi, though he claimed it was off. I think the ISP said it was unknown or something.

That site doesn't work for me for some reason. Anything less than 1mb comes back as "unstable/too fast a result, please choose a larger file". But the 1mb file times out each time.

    1.71 Mbps here.

As you can see, I only had 3 bars. This is in Nashville.

This one had 4, using the link above in Post #15 on a 1MB file

I got 8.32 Mbps on my BB 8830, but then it burst my bubble with some explanation about RIM's use of a proxy.
