    This could be just me wishing, has something like this been done before?

    connecting the Pre to a wifi signal and using it as a modem for the pc?

    Would be awesome.

    if you pre can grab a wifi signal, why can't your pc?

    Why not just buy a cheap wifi adapter for your computer?

    this is actually possible. On my HTC Fuze, there's an app for Windows Mobile called "Walking Hotspot" which takes your 3G signal and broadcasts it through wifi allowing the phone to be seen as a modem. We would need the developer to do this for WebOS
