There is an article on the pcworld site talking about heat issues with the new iPhone 3GS. (Not allowed to include links yet in my posts, so you will have to find the article yourself.)

Sounds like these new processors used in the Pre and the iPhone 3GS generate a lot of heat. So, it is NOT a Pre design goof after all. You want the speed, you going to face some heat.

I think engadget had a pic of a white 3gs that had a brown hue to it after overheating a bit.
If at first you don't succeed, keep on sucking till you do succeed.

yep, but keep in mind most people aren't having this issue... and over a million 3GS's have already been sold.... it's probably just a bad battery.

White iPhone 3GS reportedly overheats, turns a browner shade of white

I'm coming from a touch pro so the heat issue doesn't bother me. I at least am able to charge it when its hot. I wonder if palm had protype white pre and saw the white changing color and just picked the black to avoid the problem
