This is my first smartphone, so not sure if it's a standard trick, but I just noticed that when I'm on a call the screen turns off automatically when it's near my face. Playing around with this it seems to shut off when I put just my thumb near the speaker. Is there a light sensor in there, or a mic tuned to determine delay in reflected audio?
