I completed the Data Transfer Assistant today, moving data from my Palm Desktop to the Pre, and opting to use Google going forward. My appointments, contacts, and tasks came over to the Pre just fine. When signed in to Google I see my contacts OK, but there are no appts. showing in the Calendar and no tasks are listed. It's been about 2 1/2 hours since the transfer, which I would think is long enough for fields to at least begin to be populated. Do I need to do something further to get the Calendar and Tasks onto the Google site?

Just talked with Palm cs and was told that the Calendar has taken close to 24 hours to show up due to the high numbers of people doing the same thing. Anyone else hear that story?
I am going to wait until tomorrow to see what I see...

I have been having a similar problem were I put appointments up on Google calendar. It takes the pre forever to sync with it. So I have actually have to go in the "Preferences & Accounts" option and sync it manually. Isn't there somewhere where you can tell it to auto sync with your google calendar?

Same experience here. Entered appts at 9pm last night and they showed up ~20hrs later. I thought it might have something to do with the data transfer tool I used but now i'm not so sure...

When I go into the Calendar 'Preferences & Accounts', there are 2 accounts, 'Palm Profile' and 'Google'. The default calendar is 'Palm Profile' (Which has my name spelled wrong, thanks to the Sprint Store rep), and CANNOT be changed.

My first thought is to delete the Google account and then re-enter it, but I don't know if all of the data imported from my Palm Desktop would be lost. Anyone know how to correct this?

I had to reboot my Pre for my Calendar to show up....

Well, I got to know a Palm cs rep pretty well this evening. After about an hour and 45 minutes the issue seems to be resolved. She began by insisting that all I need do is wait another day and it would all be fine. The fact that when in the Calendar app on the Pre (under 'Preferences & Accounts', and then under 'Default Calendar'), there was only 'Palm Profile' to choose made me suspicious that something wasn't right. The ultimate outcome was to re-boot the Palm, which resulted in the Google account showing up as an option to choose from as the default calendar, which I did. Then clicking 'Sync Now' resulted in the Calendar events showing up in my Google calendar online. SUCCESS!

Well, my tasks that were transferred from the Palm Desktop to the Pre are gone. They're not on the Pre or on the Google calendar website.

Also, when on the Google calendar online, there are no events showing from the original data transfer from the Palm Desktop. All of the events DO show on the Pre, but not on the Google calendar online. The only events that show up online are the ones I have entered since getting the Pre on Saturday.
Just talked with my friends at Palm again and they told me a 'specialist' will get back to me withing 24-48 hours.
This is starting to get old.

Dude, good luck. I am in the SAME boat. My calendar items are ONLY on the Pre and NONE of them are showing up online in Google and I KNOW I have the phone set up right. Proper default calendar, proper Username and Password, etc. My contacts are online in Google, and my Google Mail works, but I have yet to make my calendar items appear online in Google calendars.

MAN, would I like this to be fixed!!

Today's chat with Palm CS seems to have completely resolved the problems.

She had me do a partial erase 1st. Then, using a different email address, I created a new Palm Profile and re-did the Data Transfer from my Palm Desktop to the Pre. I had over 6400 items transferred, so it took many hours for the Pre to fully populate my Calendar and Tasks. (Contacts were just about instantaneous) The Google Calendar and Contacts are now showing all the data that was in the Palm Desktop app.! Amazing.

Now if someone resolves the issue of Tasks not synchronizing I'll probably keep the Pre.

You're a little too nuanced for me - what does that mean in English?
