Anyone have issues with GTalk over WiFi?

I was trying for a while to get my GTalk account to connect - kept telling me it couldn't connect to the server. On a lark, I decided to disconnect from the home WiFI and sure enough, it connected over the EVDO. Anyone else seen this? I was thinking then it might be a router issue on my end, but I really don't block any ports going OUT. Is this a limitation of the IM client then? Only over EVDO?
