Since I anticipate many of you would want to share their experience of Pre ownership I took the preemptive step to create a central topic for it rather than have thousands of seperate topics.

So feel free to post here as soon as you get yours (bonus points if you post from your pre )

Saving spot for when I have my Pre tomorrow. Muahahaha

UPDATE: I got my Pre!! It took me 4 Best Buy stops, 1 Sprint store and a Radio shack (Total of 3 hours) to finally get it but I got it and its def worth it! As far as the phone itself, its as advertise except with minor bugs and fixes.

If anyone's in the Long Beach, CA area. Go to Radio Shack at Anaheim and Martin Luther King. His name is Eric and he'll waive the activation fee if you tell him that I sent yah. cheers!

I was at the Roosevelt hotel this morning for the Pre business preview. Sprint gracefully gave out coupons to all the attendees for a complementary Pre. I'm psyched. I will be getting my Pre sometime next week - don't have to wait on line at the store.

They had a bunch of people from palm demoing the Pre. What a beautiful device!!!

I got my Pre at 8 am sharp! Luckily the folks at Grant Wireless in Indy set me up!!! I drove by two corporate stores and there were 30-50 people lined up at each. I passed the Best Buy in Castleton that didn't open for two more hours and there were 12-15 people there.

Pulled up to Grant at 7:45. They let me in. Gave me my Pre at 8 on the nose. Set me up quickly and very professionally. I was on my way home by 8:25.

    So far I love it!

BTW, they were out by 8:10 at the Clearwater location. But I am now a customer for life with Grant!

Just got mine from the DC launch party...

Showed up about 5 minutes before 6, was something like 8th in line. People continued to trickle in after we were let in. Had to bring confirmation email or they wouldn't let you in. Chris Cooley was the celebrity for the DC party.

They checked off my name, and an agent specifically came to meet me and took me to get set up. They read off the usual stuff about 2-year contracts and what not -- note that she had to switch me from the Everything Blackberry data to the Everything Pre, so there is a new plan specifically for the Pre.

The associate then walked me through setting up the Palm Profile -- this is mandatory, as it appears when you turn on a Pre for the first time. There's also a short introductory video that plays after you set up your profile -- this walks you through simple gestures so you know how to navigate. Phone will then reboot and appear back on the home screen.

From this point on, I was free to do whatever -- they walked me over to a ReadyNow expert, but there was a wait. I talked to one of the Palm reps walking around the store, who assured me that Universal Search will be working on e-mails in the very near future (they are aware of the demand) and that Google Contacts is another issue they have heard a lot about. I denied the request for the ReadyNow walkthrough (mostly they were just helping people xfer contacts, but some people were pretty clueless as a whole about using the Pre).

About to go play with it now. And yes, I did get the touchstone.

    BISP

The BISP is real, this thing ROCKS! I got BOHIKA'd by the touchstone too, but will probably return it. They had 1 Pre left at the radio shack at 7th & 30th st in NYC. Instant rebate was a great benifit over going to the sprint store (along with not having the line at Sprint I saw riding my bike into the office)

One note though, I am already having problems with the online PALM account center. What a piece of crap. I validated my email with an Opera browser, and when I went to manage user settings I get this message "Sorry, User Console is not currently supported on Mac browsers." Mind you Im on XP with Opera. Very sloppy web team.

What is worse is that it wont let me log on with Firefox (says my password is wrong)
