The article (click here) is so-so, but it's doubtful it will influence any buying decisions. Die-hard pre-verts one day before Release Day are still thirsting for more info, especially after that batch of repetitive reviews (with the shining exception being Dieters...ok, some others were good too, but hearing whining about battery life like Palm was supposed to have reinvented the lithium ion chemistry was slightly annoying).

Here's a summary for ADD adults (plus disclaimer):
1. EGGS, PEBBLES AND GECKOS PLAYED A KEY ROLE
2. WEBOS APPS SHOULD BE USEFUL
3. PALM ADOPTED APPLE'S HIGH STANDARDS
4. SPRINT IS PALM'S OLDEST FRIEND
5. LOTS OF WEBOS DEVICES IN THE WORKS
Full disclosure: Elevation Partners, which holds a 25% stake in Palm, is also a shareholder in our parent company, Forbes Media.
Point 2 is certainly odd, especially with respect to title; can you imagine a "Things you didn't know about Windows" article saying "Windows apps should be useful"??? Point 4 elicited a WTF and "who cares" reaction from me; nobody will buy a phone based on who is on Palm's Christmas card list. Plus, the article says that Sprint had no role in the Pre at all, other than to help decide which apps should be installed out of the box.

The others were noteworthy, point 5 being a re-affirmation of what we've already known (musn't forget the Eos/Pixie and the Touchstone "line" too!) but reading it flashed me a mental image of a workdesk somewhere in Palm labs with three or four wooden prototypes lying aroung. Perhaps they are using soap bars and organic tofu for their 3d modelling now!
