    Hey there guys,

My local sprint kiosk(which shall stay name-less) stated that their Pre demo unit was coming in on Tuesday and they'd let me have a first look at it before they put it out or anything. I was just wondering if anyone had any questions they wanted answered about the Pre? I'll definitely try and take some pictures(or video) if I'm allowed but ask away and I'll try and accommodate you(assuming they really get it on Tuesday)

Can you check to see if it has a slide out keyboard?

    Thanks in advance

That's the kind of response that makes you not want to be helpful.

You know last time I checked, I thought Palm mentioned it was a virtual one.

The big question is...will it be activated already? Because if it is not...you won't be able to see much more than the initial setup process.

Also, if it does, does it also have a 'slide back-in keyboard'?

    TIA +1
    Just call me Berd.

You know, good question. I'm hoping for a yes but you never know. If it isn't, then all I can really do is snap some pictures and comment on the keyboard which has already been done.

Test the Reception and Call quality next to another Sprint phone.
Perhaps, if possible, check it in a low signal area.

Yeah...but if the thing is locked call customer service, not 911

Fire up the camera app and see if there's video recording.

Not that I personally care about video recording, but it seems to be all the rage these days.

Oh, and let me add my usual "YOU LUCKY BASTID!"

I'll definitely test out reception and call quality next to another phone. About the low signal area though, that might be hard since Sprint actually keeps excellent coverage in my part of the SF Bay Area... I'll build some type of half-witted Faraday cage to simulate bad coverage perhaps?

Maybe note every application that comes preloaded.

See how many cards you can open.
    See if it boggs down.

How's the vibrate on it? Loud like the Treo? Or soft like some phones out here?

Also, how fast does GPS find your position?
    Treo 650p --> Treo 755p --> Pre

see what the notification options are for email. Can I have high priority or otherwise filtered messages make a sound or vibrate but have normal messages come through silently? (Blackberry on BES feature that I can't live without)
