I called the Sprint reseller affiliated with my employer and got on their list for the Palm Pre. The rep sent me a Pre Launch Guide intended for Sprint internal use only. I was going to post it here, but it's 1MB which is too large for forum rules. Here are a few notable points:
  • SERO plans will not work on the Pre
  • The Pre is an exchange-only phone -- no parts or repair available
  • Documents To Go will be available in ROM for read-only... ability to update comes later
  • You must have a Palm profile to use the phone
  • The GPS requires Google Mobile
  • You can remotely wipe your Pre using a Palm Profile page

File Type: zip Pre-Launch.pdf.zip (683.1 KB, 1084 views) Email Attachment

The Docs to go is a very positive indicator. The remote wipe is good news for IT departments, and causes me to guess that they are using ActiveSync for that function (since they've already licensed it for use with Exchange servers).

The GPS requires Google Mobile? What about Telenav?

Get an exception or get a mod to post the whole thing. This is too good info to keep to yourself. :-)

I would be careful releasing a PDF - might be watermarked or canary trapped. Dump it to plain text, run a spell check on it to make sure any intentional spelling errors are eliminated, and then post it - a plain text version should take up only a few KB.

Finally - the last page was the best of all!

But where does it say multiple exchange servers are supported as indicated in the text? ANd remote wipe, etc... Is there more coming?

Am I the only one not seeing the "Eligible Price Plan" page that is referred to on the "Details" page? There seems to still be uncertainty as to which family plans will be eligible, and an official page from Sprint could settle the debate.

See the attachment on the original post: page 7 for eligible plans, page 19 for multiple exchange accounts (don't know about multiple servers) and page 21 for remote wipe.

One thing from the doc is very positive. Looks like Docs to go is pre-installed for viewing.
