High-powered folk like that will probably get units as part of the normal review process. Note that the Palm program is called "Real Reviewers," which I take to mean "regular" folk using the Pre in their real lives.

Okay, so, it seems that everyone's given up on asking about the Real Reviewers program. Is the assumption at this point that the RR's have been notified but asked to keep it quiet, or that the program still hasn't rolled out?

i just emailed a very famous high level top 5 technology reviewer and asked him/her if we can expect a review from him/her any time soon. his/her exact response was -

"Stay tuned, but ignore wild speculation about timing."

now please don't inundate these people with emails.

So, I guess the answer is: the Real Reviewers were notified, and must have agreed not to say so until they received their Pre's. Because nobody would be so cruel as to joke about something like this...

Oh, I figured that's where you got his name from. But I thought he would have announced something here. Twitter is down now for maintenance.

We may not see these reviewers for a while. Probably not till after the Pre-gasm subsides. May be several days
