...is there space enough to place a scrap of paper (or a visiting card, perhaps) between the Pre top part and the keyboard?

I don't get this question at all.

I believe , he was saying
when you slide out the screen, you will see the keyboard at the bottom. Now turn this around you will see that mirror , I guess he is interested in sliding a card along the mirror ????.

I wonder why would you do that ?

I was referring to the depressed space on the kbd part.

Sorry...still in the dark on what you mean. What exactly would you be trying to do? That would help.

Draw us a picture dude...we still don't get it.

Does he want to hide a business card over the keybd?

Hes worried about scratches and or some button being pressed inadvertantly while its slid up.

ONE can be spelled as NEO.

    nope... wait for pic.

Edit: here it is... I'm referring to the space created by the red portion.

Let me take a stab at this:

I think he just wants to know how much of a gap there is between the keyboard part of the phone (the bottom) & the screen part of the phone (the top) when the phone is fully extended exposing the keyboard.
    Make It Happen!!
    If you don't, who will?

I'm going to go with no. A few reasons:

    1. there's not that much space
    2. Palm managed (successfully!) to get a sliding formfactor where you aren't able to see any of the hinge/mechanism stuff when it's slid out. That says to me that when it's closed there's probably not much space
    3. The keyboard area is definitely smaller than a business card
    4. It slides out on a curve (banana), so that would also make it tougher.

    hmm
    Now that its clearer ,
Well, Dieter says no can't do that ,

    But Greenhex ,
Why would you want to slip a card on the keyboard ?

Tell us why , may be folks can come up with ideas.

Isn't it obvious?? Greenhex obviously isn't comfortable with having most of his info on the cloud and is just making sure he has a backup plan in case there is ever any trouble...a piece of paper/card to WRITE info down on!! Right Greenhex??
    Sincerely,

    Dwight Shrute

reminds me when I used to save junk in the empty Springboard cover. At least until I bought me a Springboard Backup Module AND the whopping 8MB extra memory. Boy that rocked.

wait a second , it the keyboard spill proof ?
looks to me the coffee can be drained easily ,
Greenhex might want to use a visiting card to dry the corner liquid.

I can lick it with my tongue

But seriously , this thing can hold the liquid.

That would be great, taking a piece of paper jammed into the slider!

Why would it jam in there to begin with ?
Me thinks Greenhex is just having fun with this post.

Sire Greenhex, can you explain to us your intentions on that GAP.
