    This thread is so odd, I thought a graphical depiction of what it's trying to describe would make things perfectly clear:

    Don't expect me to keep this updated!

    Shouldn't the potential max days remaining line have a negative slope?

    Ha - good call! I didn't read the title of that line closely enough. It would probably be easiest just to rename it to "Potential Max Days from Announcement to Release".

    If there was a "Potential Max Days Until Rumored Release Date" line, it would be a sawtooth.

    Yeah, you're right. Or you could just pretend the legend is relabeled "Potential Cumulative Max Days from Announcement to Release" for the green dotted portion.

    In any case, the graph is a pointless one which remanded me of a Dilbert cartoon in which Wally was directed to create a metric that measured progress on his project. He created the metric "Cumulative Days Since the Project Began" which the pointy-haired boss loved because the graph tracked up and to the right ...

    ... like the metric "Days Since the Announcement"

    Wow, a 1pm update today. Is your interest waning?
    If you found my post useful then please sign up for a Dropbox Account, I could use the extra 250mb of storage.

    It's not the interest that's waning, it's just that he never thought we'd get this far before release

    Yes,
    I was hoping for the date announcement in the yesterday's webinar.
    Both PALM and Sprint are nuts no news , no new features.
    They are playing a dangerous game of not releasing any info.
    Granted PALM has history of innovation and fair share of fans.
    But if these two companies wait till June I say they will loose fair share of market in this economy.
    This is the quite time and best time to steal the thunder.

    I decided not to buy Pre when it gets released.
    From June to Dec 09 we have new versions of many phones being released( G1,Iphone update Winmo ...)

    I might wait a month or two i.e. August 2009 time frame for a Windows 6.5 world phone with 3.5 inch screen.

    Sure, its going away, I feel like this is getting nowhere.
    And when it really comes out , I am not sure how many people line up outside to buy it :-)

    OK, so here's a picky point about "first half of 2009"....

    There are 365 days in 2009. Half of 365 is 182.5. So it seems to me that the first half of 2009 will end on the 183rd day of the year.

    Anyone want to check a calendar and see when that will be? (Hint: It isn't 6/30/09.)
    Dr J

    Palm III --> Palm m500 --> Treo 600 --> Treo 650 (2 days!) --> Treo 700p --> Treo 755p (Sprint)
    KayPro II --> IBM Portable --> Mac SE --> Mac Performa 6115CD --> Mac PPC 6500 --> Mac G4 (Yosemite) --> iMac G5 20
