From our initial assessment, the situation would be similar to Android or LiMo. Because these platforms are Linux based, it would be theoretically possible to port StyleTap to run on them. However, in order to integrate StyleTap so that it operated seamlessly with the webOS applications, it would require that webOS/Android/LiMo have at least a limited set C/C++ APIs available that are not currently available in the announced version of the webOS SDK.

That would be good news for those concerned.
I moved away from palmOS apps quite some time back.

I just saw this on PreCentral.net. I've e-mailed Styletap at sales@styletap.com and expressed my interest as the article suggests. I hope more do the same.
    * Stuck patches? Partial erase worked for me.
    * Stuck virtual keyboard? Partial erase AND folder deletion worked for me.

I'm not sure how to contact Palm. I was just searching their site for a way to e-mail them, but maybe I'm still too sleepy-eyed.

    Any ideas?

I have Style Tap on my 800w and I really like it. I love to run my old (going back to 1996) Palm programs. Most everything runs perfectly but I some of you will not want to know that there is no HotSync.

I sent StyleTap an email telling them to please make a emulator for the Pre!
    Pilot 1000 -> Pilot 5000 ->Palm Pilot Professional -> HP 620LX -> TRG Pro -> Palm V -> Palm Vx -> Palm M505 -> Palm i705 -> Palm Tungsten|T -> Samsung i500 -> Treo 600->Treo 650 -> Treo 600-> Treo 700p ->Centro ->Treo 800w + Redfly C8n -> Palm Pre -> HP Touchpad
    R.I.P Palm 1996-2011

Yes, it is important to contact Palm. Styletap responded very quickly to my interest saying that contacting Palm would be very helpful. Apparently, for an emulator to be written, it would be very helpful, if not downright necessary, that Palm allow Styletap to dig into the deeper levels of programming flexibility. If Palm hears from us, they might be more inclined.

But HOW to contact Palm? Their website shows no clear obvious way to do so. Their "contact us" page is just about tech support (and not much of it), volume sales, media relations, etc.

One way that has been suggested it to post comments on the official Palm Blog. Here's a link to comment on their Blog entry of Jan 12 regarding the PRe.

    http://blog.palm.com/palm/2009/01/re....html#comments

Main Blog Page that has links to comment on each post is here:

    http://blog.palm.com/

A number of posts say that Palm really does read the comments on their blog so that is one avenue and has the advantage of others having the chance to see your comment and maybe second it.

I have posted a comment, but it doesn't show up yet as they are moderated. Even if they don't post your comment, at least somebody is reading them so post often in any blog entry that is appropriate.

Wow... if Styletap does get something out. Could you imagine?

If they even found a way to launch more than one instance of the program too... we would have access to Multitasking Garnet.

I've contacted other developers... (of my favorite Palm Apps)... I'll re-purchase these versions, I have no problem supporting dedicated Palm OS developers (soon to be 'Huevos' developers I hope).
