Don't see where on Sprint you can pre-order it?
  2. #2
Nor is there any mention of the Pre on the Palm website yet.

Wow! I am impressed! I like almost everything I read, including the slider, 3.5mm headphone, BT, USB connector, slick multi-tasking, integrated Synergy of data.

The bad - Sprint. Yuch. Why can't Verizon ever get a phone first?

    The unknown:
Legacy Palm app support? - looks like none, but don't know
PC/Mac desktop / sync? - only web sync?
Media player details - formats supported (FLAC please!)
    Removable SD card?
BT Keyboard? - Probably. Only Apple has a weird problem with this.
    Copy / Paste!!!

I wonder if VZW will ever get this phone.

SPrint? What the hell? I'm happy for the Sprint subscribers, but PALM needed and hit it out of the park with the Pre - but i would want access to as many subscribers as possible to help pull me out of the depths!!!! Plus nothing like building yourself into a box by not going GSM for other countries - but i would have at least brought it to VZW to access the numbers!!! But i will say this - i am FINALLY excited about PALM again! Thank you PALM for finally listening to your base!

I'm gonna be honest here - I'm excited about the specs, glad that I had the willpower not to invest in WM or BB or iP with my contemporaries... but based on pictures, the pre ain't exactly gonna win any beauty contests.

From the picture the device looks curved. Viewed from the side it resembles the letter "C"
    Pilot 5K->Palm IIIc->Tungsten T/T2->Treo 650/680 -> Pre+ (1.4.5 & Uberkernel)

But then again, when many were saying the Treo Pro looked like it was going to be ugly, I liked the look of it also.

I think they got it perfect on the look! Combined the best of the iPhone and BB and integrated the successful foundation of Palm and integrated into a good looking phone! And i LOVE the banana shape, much more ergonomically correct!

That's what Dan Hesse stated at the launch - it curves to fit your face.

One of the big complaints has been that Sprint doesn't get phones first. We can't say that we are upset it is on Sprint for that reason

On the picture of the back the finish looks dull like it may be a rubberized finish. That would be a nice contrast with the glossy front.
