    From Palm's site -

Attach this charging dock to your desk and watch how quickly it becomes home for your PalmŪ Pre™ phone. Simply place your Palm Pre on the Palm Touchstone, and magnets quickly align your phone in the correct position for charging. Charge while you’re checking your calendar, making a call, or watching videos in portrait or landscape mode.1

1 Requires Palm Pre back cover for Touchstone charging dock, sold separately. Within wireless coverage area only. Messaging, email, and web require data services at additional cost.
Looks like wireless charging won't come standard with the phone, but I didn't really expect it to.

For those who don't like sliders.

Most all slider devices have an onscreen kb app.

I know, It may be redundant

Pretty sure that's covering the microUSB port.

The keyboard looks glossy like the Centro's but spaced out like the 800w's, maybe even a tad bit more. I like that a lot.

This is definitely the first phone to seriously challenge the iPhone. Of course, no mention was made of whether Pre solves one of the biggest issues (to judge by blog postings) of the iPhone, no Cut and Paste.

I guess we will have to wait and see.....
    Palm Pilot->Palm 1000->Palm Vx->Palm VII->Treo 180->Treo 600->Treo 650->Treo 750->....and then?

Gizmodo has a brief hands-on report

Though they wouldn't let me take pictures of the experience, I just got a first chance to handle the Palm Pre, and I can tell you it's the ultimate stealth handset.

It transcends what a mobile device should feel like. It's smooth but also tough enough to feel like you're using something that's going to last. I really like how the back of the slider is reflective like an iPod touch (might be good for the ladies and their make-up too).

And unlike the Treo Pro, they look slightly rounded.

Does First Half 09 mean? (April 15 - May 15) or do we go all the way to June 1??

Well the Treo Pro will not sell well on Sprint now!

NP. I can hope that it's a slot. Though it doesn't at all say anything about expandable in the details on the Palm site.

    Hopefully more than just that.

The touchscreen isn't quite as responsive as the iPhone or G1 -- or it could be the OS, there seems to be a tiny lag between a tap and an action -- but it's still pretty great. We spent mere seconds toying with the OS, but all the actions seem ultra-intuitive.
