Palm Pre 2 Making ringtones last longer

Can someone please help me on how to make my ringtones last longer than like 3 seconds? I have a plam pre 2, is it something I can do with my phone or what? It is a Verizon, BUT I have the page plus. So whom would I contact? Any help much appreciated. This is my first smart phone, so I need a step by step directions if I need to download something.

What do you mean?

Change the ringtone?
Make a ringtone not be cut off?

When the phone rings whether text message or telephone ring, it lasts for 3 seconds. No matter what tone or song is on there.

Hmm.. I do know there is a arbitrary 15-something-second limit to longer custom ringtones.
Something's not right, but i'm not sure what could be happening. bump
