    Hello everyone. I am using a brand new Palm Pre 2 and when in just type, I noticed the Google suggest doesn't work. Is this a known issue or am I the only one with this problem. Please do express your input. I really want this feature to work properly like it should. Thanks anyway.

    have you done any homebrew stuff with your phone ? or was the phone used ? if so you may want to use the web doctor to reset your phone to factory and start over. but the best thing to try first is just a simple shut down and then see if it works.

    That's the thing. I never installed anything on it. It brand new and from the first time I got it, the google suggestion never worked. I assumed it was a bug. Today, I put on homebrew but I'm sure before I did anything, it didn't work.

    That's not the only thing google that doesn't work. Can't select image anymore. There is also some mix up with the maps, tap a map image from google search and it tries to install bing maps when its already installed

    So on a pre3, when you tap an image in google image search does it enlarge the image or you just get a menu with share and copy?

    I also have the suggestion issue since 2.2.4 (for me 'Vorschlagen' in german) but i have plenty of patches installed so i can't say what it is. But i'm quite sure it apeared with 2.2.4.

    The google image problem is known for a month or so now, just search the forums for the thread. It's google that changed their mobile site, just switch to not so nice full desktop site.

    If pressing a google searched map image for me it opens gmaps a seperate installed homebrew version of the old google maps app which was deinstalled with bing. just look in the forums for the IPK.

    Can also confirm that I have the Google Suggest sub. Nothing ever comes up with it, even if I tap Suggest multiple times.

    btw, I have a Pre3 2.2.4

    Obviously there is something going on with webOS and google. I think we should take the time to report these problems to hp so hopefully we can get a fix sooner. I already reported the maps issue.

    Original suggest URL was:
    http://www.google.com/complete/search?hl=de&json=true&q=#{searchTerms}
    located in a file named UniversalSearchList.json located in /usr/palm/universalsearchmgr/resources/en_us/
    That URL does not seem to work anymore at least on my Pre 2/3 2.2.4.

    Now there is a new way with the url https://suggestqueries.google.com/complete/search? which needs a client name (sadly ms-palm-webOS does not work). But there are a lot of other clients possible (see below) and they return different JSON results but non seem to match the one webOS needs.

    Does anyone have clue which JSON would be needed or where i could search to adjust JSON parsing (perhaps via /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.searchpreferences/)?
