Ummm... seems we have an update!!!
Both my Pre2's (unlocked EU on UK carriers) which are currently packing 2.1.0 are showing updates available to 2.2.4. About to check my backups, do save/restore and take the plunge... See you on t'other side folks. (anyone know where to find a 'changes' list?) |

interesting development coming on the eve of the big webOS announcement. I don't think it can be presumed to be a good or bad sign though... Does it mean "we're going forward with webOS and pushing out new updates as we speak!", or "we're ending webOS development and pushing out the final updates as we speak"? Makes sense either way.
also, as we know 2.2.4 exists for the Pre3 and veer as well (just not released yet), perhaps soon all three will be united on the same webOS version. webOS 2.x has been very fragmented for awhile now, with 2.1, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.2.0 and 2.2.3 all being current for some devices. Probably no hope for the old pre's and pixi's though. |

Would love to get a list of what's in this update - there was a generic "range of updates" message when I was offered the update... anyone know a page to look at?
Someone mentioned touth-to-share - possible? I now see a Skype profile in the 'add accounts' - still to test that. Problem is that there's no advanced kernels available for this version yet, so the Pre2 now feels a tad slow!! It'll come, I'm sure... Happy to see a little spark of life... a little concerned it might be the final "So long and thanks for all the fish!" farewell from the team! |

I ran the OTA 2.2.4 yesterday on my unlocked Pre2. None of the patches worked afterwards but I was able to remove them. Ubercalendar I needed to remove with EPR. But then I walked into the dark world. Opened Preware and notice that there isn't a single patch available so now I'm back with my standard webos including standard calendar which, even if it is v. 2.2.4, hasn't changed a bit.
Wonder if I can add a feed for 2.1 and install patches again. Someone that could answer? I would also like to see a list of included updates. |

My Pre2 (UK, unlocked) [edit]is installing[/edit] installed the update.
Booted fine, and made first call without issues. @ Haze - if you need particular patches to be available you should wait with installing the OS updates until the developers have had a change to do their work and make their patches available for the new version. Does anyone notice that the icons in the notification are are somewhat 'distorted' and lowres?
