    The heat is from the chemical reactions in the battery while charging/discharging. If you have any phone charging while, at the same time, using applications that heavily drain the battery, that phone will get very hot. It's the nature of the beast. Even my old 8330 Curve would get quite warm when charging for a while and also being used. Some devices better dissipate the heat, while other manage it by slowing down the charge (thereby taking longer to charge the device to max).

    My experience matches those who say that their pre2 doesn't get as hot as their pre- did. My frankenpre2 gets warm but not like my pre- did.

    I am running completely stock, tho. So I don't have the ability to monitor cpu temps. I'm basing this on my feeling & batt temps.
