I have a Sprint Frankenpre 2 that works great, however I have a family member that is wanting to sell me a Kyocera Echo CHEAP, and I'd like to try it out for a few days. In the past that would be an easy ESN switch, but since the Pre 2 has to have an activated Sprint com board, I am concerned I migt mess it up if I de-activate it.
My plan was to put the Sprint Pre 2 in airplane mode, then switch my service over to the Echo, mess with it, and then if I decide I don't like it, simply reactivate my Pre 2. Will this work? I'd like to avoid having to put the comm board back in the Pre Minus, doctor it, activate, then put it back into the Pre 2 and Re-doctor back to 2.1.
Will going into airplane mode avoid this, or will I need to go through the re-doctoring process?
