So far I've tested all features and everytrhing works. My Palm profile apps all came down without issues. As expected, Sprint Nav app went away

Is it safe to say for others out there if they are going to use a Verizon Pre 2 then they just need to do a comm board swap and then run the stock Verizon Pre 2 doctor?

Is there anyway to confirm this. Lexart did you try the stock Verizon Pre 2 doctor?
I am def running into the same token issues when trying to do a FrankenPre w/ a Verizon Pre 2.

I then tried to run the stock Verizon Pre 2 Doctor and that worked (But did get a "Could Not Reset your Pre" error after 5x%, I pulled the battery and started it up) After which I got to the part to put in my profile, and it would not load (I had no Data on top, only cell reception) Did this twice.

    Any thoughts?

Note that there is a specific new script for Verizon Pre 2:

I will not be able to test out that everything works until next week, if my friend will even decide to do it... hopefully I will get back to you ASAP.

I just Sprintified my pre 2. Works great. I am very pleased. Flash, prl updated.......

All my apps restored....installed preware and many patches....

I had to sign into my profile 3 times before it actually worked. Not sure what the problem was. It kept telling me that there was an error to try again later.

Thanks webos internals and the entire precentral community........donated last week.

Is there absolutely any way I can just swap the comm board into the Pre 2 and then activate it? The reason is that I got an old Pre- from a friend with a broken screen (it remains black, just back lit), and it won't seem to turn on unless I plug it into a pour source.

I'm ready to do the rest of the process... I just need to know whether this will be a possibility.

Another idea is to just go ahead and call Sprint and activate the Pre-. Would it be activated even though I can't fully turn it on? (I also have no way of signing into my Palm profile with it, since the screen is broken).

    Thanks for any input.

I've been waiting until I had some time before attempting to create my Sprint Pre 2. In the time that I've been waiting I have been trying to keep up with everything. Today I began to attempt the conversion and was going through the wiki pages and the forums too before beginning. After reading the wiki, I noticed the lack of tokens and it concerned me that there might be a step missing since tokens used to be very important. I couldn't understand why that could be missing, so I started searching.

After reading this thread, I see that tokens are no longer necessary, which is great! One less thing to do.

I was wondering if I should update the wiki to explicitly state that tokens are no longer necessary for the Sprint Pre 2, so that it is clearer for people like myself who were not completely up to date and got concerned due to the lack of tokens being mentioned?

As Rod posted earlier, there are no Sprint provisioner binaries for webos 2.x so the Pre minus Comm board but be activated to your sprint account PRIOR to the procedure to use the binaries avail through webos 1.x . I did try for kicks and giggles and none of my stuff worked in short of writing the binaries from scratch.

Because of the this question coming up more and more frequently, I have updated the Sprint Pre 2 wiki to mention this requirement right at the top.

The Verizon Pre 2 is only at 2.0.1

If you want 2.1.0, you'll need to turn it into a WR Pre 2. That's a whole new manual ball game involving tokens.
