I noticed that Verizon charges for MHS on Android phones, and that it is a 2GB cap rather than the 5GB cap offered with the Pre+. That's pretty lame, because I could definitely exceed 2GB when I was travelling on business.

Well, I started poking around the HP site that is taking "pre-orders" for the Pre2. I see that VZW is offering the same plan for the Pre2 and charging the same price for it. Apparently they are no longer offering th 5GB plan. It's a shame, because it was such a great selling point for the Pre+.

This is a double fail for VZW because the cap is too low, and it will make Pre+ users less willing to upgrade to the Pre2, and they are the people most likely to want the Pre2. FreeTether is going to be an even bigger hit.

Especially when combined with VZW plans to transcode content and throttle connections for heavy users...

I hope T-Mobile will be getting a webOS phone...

Doesn't freetether do the same thing as mobile hotspot?

Yep, and if the carriers ever figure out how to identify traffic from tethered devices without MHS... it could get expensive.
