having followed the Quick Install procedures, and having read the associated threads for this topic, I have found the following which I would liek some help on please:
1) used the WebOS Quick Install to patch - Change Lock Screen Background, under Styling mods. 2) After sending the png file (a simple all black, correctly sized file) I then check that this has been sent to the correct path - /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.phone/images/backdrop-firstuse.png and retrieve it 3) After retrieving, it is indeed the right file - as it is all black as I had sent it 4) So I know the file is what I want it to be BUT - after reboot of Palm Pre 2, when I am asked to key in the pin code, the screen background is still the annoying 'blue cloud' background !!! Can anyone help with this please? Many thanks |

i don't have Pre2... but try look on this image on Pre2:
/usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.firstuse/images/background.png maybe on webOS 2.0 is used this image for pin screen, i have it on me Pre 1.4.5 too, but is same as backdrop-firstuse.png... Try rename your image to background.png and send it via WebOS Quick Install menu Tools/SendFile to above path. (You may backup original file before replacing with menu Tools/ReceiveFile) |

Well done k3dar! That was it - the file and path name you provided on the Palm Pre2 is the one to change the background for pin lock, many thanks for your quick reply

I've updated: /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.firstuse/images/1.5/background.png and /usr/palm/applications/com.palm.app.firstuse/images/background.png but still have the clouds, on 2.1.0 I could change the background fine, not now for some reason on 2.2.4 |
